for years i was told “puppies stop being puppies at two.”  not so for mandarin collies.  cody bear was still going strong as a puppy at 3.5 years old.  playful, silly, just having that “puppy way” about him.

with cody bear, growing out of puppyhood wasn’t a time or age thing. it was situational.  the minute i brought pickles (the puppy, not the hamburger condiment) home he grew up.  he is now a grown up. responsible. protective.

he will only play with toys if pickles is getting too much attention.  or, if he thinks i’m not giving either of them enough of my time.
