that is the bear as of this morning. as some of you may recall, he’s had a struggle with an eye injury and was burdened with the cone.
well, the eye injury got worse. then it stopped getting worse and just wasn’t getting better. the veterinary ophthalmologist was visited on friday and was going to put him under that day, look at his eye under a super microscope for eyes and remove the microscopic needles from the cactus inside his eye lids. i HAD to be done. the body SHOULD be rejecting the spines, but it just wasn’t working.
for $1450.00.
so i left. i went home to take the weekend to come up with some cash for cody bear’s eye. at this point he was squinting the one eye. he was constantly trying to rub his face on me. i called my normal vet who found an all natural eye drop that would hopefully keep him comfortable. SIMILASAN.
for $15.00.
friday night before bed….3 drops of similasan.
saturday morning he woke up, looked at me…both eyes wide open. it’s been over a week and he is allll better. no squinting. no pawing. no leaning. no surgery.
he’s doing great. playful and cuddly. conefree.

I don’t mean to intrude on your blog, but being a fan of dogs I couldn’t resist. I’m happy the ‘beast’ is doing well. He looks very healthy and happy. Here’s a short clip of my best friend Sandy:
Have a great week!
Yay Cody Bear! And yay Goodbear for not having to pay the $1450 — eek! Also: such a beautiful photo!
FANTASTIC!!!!!!
What a great vet you have! Now comes the hard part: how are you going to fit fourteen-hundred dollars’ worth of dog toys into your home?
Hooray for regular vets and eye drops!
Fantastic!! Yay for inexpensive fixes for our priceless friends.
My wife is interested in knowing which Similasan product it was? (Since we have cacti around here …)
allergy relief eye drops. very soothing, apparently.
i found it even cheaper last night at albertson’s.
