a moment of silence…

a moment of silence. a moment of peace.

tonight i am posting a file photo from last month, just a picture of one of my dogs and my cat sleeping peacefully next to the heater.  no special photos, no dog related tidbits of info.

tonight our thoughts are with haiti.

at this moment my pets are living more comfortably than millions of people, not just in the demolished city of port-au-prince, but all over the world.

the fact that my pets eat better than millions of people, have access to medical care and have a comfortabole bed is really on my mind tonight.  unlike the haitians, pickles, spree and cody bear have fresh water tonight.  unlike the earthquake victims and even the homeless vets in my own town, they have a roof over their heads and someone who worries over their every injury or need.

so what now?  i will review this list of charities that need our donations:  http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/01/13/haiti.earthquake.how.to.help/index.html

a few of my friends have sent donations off to “doctors without borders” already.  maybe we’ll do that; synergy and all.

  1. Thank you for posting this information, Goodbear. When I went to sleep last night, I had no idea of the scale of the earthquake in Haiti.

  2. Thank you for this tonight. My Pomeranian actually died today. It’s so horrible. my girlz are heartbroken. I used this same earthquake example to tell them when bad things happen sometimes it’s just no ones fault. It just happens…

  3. It’s all an accident of where you’re born, isn’t it? Just like the song says, you know where it ends, it usually depends on where you start.

  4. dennis….?
