i learned at wikipedia today that there is some sort of ongoing debate about the color of tennis balls. many say they’re yellow, but some argue they are actually green.
whatever….
all i know is they don’t stay that color for long if they are given to a dog. one of the most cherished dog toys out there, the tennis ball is frequently brown and spitty.
which to dogs, ….is how they are meant to look. and smell. and feel. and taste.

Yeah, all our tennis balls are dirt-colored …
The true color of a tennis ball is tan… the color of the ball WITHOUT the fuzz… : ) When our dog gets bored or we are simply too tired to throw it any more he simply pulls all the yellow/green fuzz off solving that question once and for all
That’s truly a great photo. I love the expression in the eyes. If he had a black fedora on and the T ball was a cigar, I can hear him say, “I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse.”
watching the funeral coverage of ted kennedy and charlie gibson was just talking about the senator’s portuguese water dogs and their old tennis balls! they showed the dogs with their tennis balls in their mouths.
