regarding dogs and pet therapy…i have strong opinions. i get upset anytime i hear about an animal abuse or neglect cases. each time i hear one it boils down to this: those people treat pets like property, commodities…not family.
pet therapy programs show people that dogs are a healing part of the community, not property. they comfort the ill, remind elderly of past pets, bring smiles and healing to patients and comfort to the families of the ill. and …they KNOW they’re doing it. and they’re up for it. they want to help.
i have a couple tales about it, i may share later. but…until then, please find out who the pet therapy programs are in your town and offer them a little support. the dogs and the handlers have earned it.
